Tender History:

Birch was a 13-ton steam-powered small harbor tender that served as a buoy boat in the 10th Lighthouse District from 1917 until 1930.  She was decommissioned in 1930 as being "beyond economical repair" and was sold.  She became a private tug named Avalon.
