On beach abreast south end of Assawoman Bay, 2 1/4 miles south of Fenwick Island Light; 38-24' 10"N x 75-03' 30"W

Abandoned in 1948; building destroyed in 1962 (see below for details)


Remarks:

The original building, located near present-day 83rd Street in Ocean City, was purposely burned down by the local fire department at the request of the current owners after the building was damaged in a storm in March, 1962.**

Keepers:

John B. Jones was appointed keeper 1 FEB 1898 and left in 1915.

William I. Hudson was appointed acting keeper in 1915.
