Colleen, 1945

WPYc-27

History:

The Colleen was a 250-ton, 150-foot steel-hulled vessel that first entered commercial service in 1928.  She was acquired by the Navy as a patrol boat in 1942 and was transferred to the Coast Guard on 11 September 1945.  She was found to be "ill-suited" for Coast Guard needs and the decision was made to not retain her.  She was decommissioned on 26 October 1945 and was sold on 25 March 1947.
