Tender History:

The iron-hulled Locust, originally launched in 1895, was acquired by the U.S. Lighthouse Service in 1931 for use as a buoy boat.  She was assigned to the 18th Lighthouse District where she served until she was decommissioned in 1954.  When the Lighthouse Service merged with the Coast Guard she was eventually given the designation CG-72013D.
