Sunrise, 1867

The daily event of the sun rising above the horizon.

History:

The Sunrise was one of three 12-ton, two-masted half-deck luggers built for use as freight launches in the 8th Lighthouse District, the other two being the Sunset and Susan.  All three entered service in 1867.

The Sunrise was sold in 1875.
