Bagram - A crew photo of USCG RAID Teams 16 & 17 in Bagram, Afghanistan. MST2 Chris Newton, USCG, is to the right holding the CG Ensign. The Teams had just been awarded the Afghanistan Campaign Medal; picture is dated 17 April 2013. MST2 Newton noted: "The photo is RAID 16 (active-duty team) and RAID 17 (Reserve team) from Bagram. Direct Access says that was awarded 17APR2013 for my AFG campaign medal, and that sounds about right. That is the Hindu Kush mountains in the background. The snow stayed there year-round. Bagram’s elevation was above 7,000’ and it took some acclimation when you first got there." Scan provided courtesy of MST2 Chris Newton, USCG
