In May of 2006 Senior Chief Boatswains Mate Emmanuel Zambrana became the Officer-in-Charge of Station San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was the first Puerto Rican to command the Puerto Rican-based Coast Guard Small Boat Station. He transferred in June 2007 after his promotion to CWO.
