Wardroom mural, Air Station Clearwater, Florida (Formerly Air Station St. Petersburg)
Air Station Clearwater, Florida (Formerly Air Station St. Petersburg) Wardroom mural inside the Officers' & CPO Mess. This building was constructed in the 1937-38 time frame and the interior of the Officers' Mess was painted by a local artist, George Snow Hill, under the Works Progress Administration's Federal Art Program. Each wall of the Mess depicted a historic event in Coast Guard history or one of the service's many missions conducted in the 1930s.
