Narrative history of Blacks in the Coast Guard and its predecessor service, published in 1976. It was written by SK3 Linda E. Townsend, USCGR; PA3 Dupree Davenport, USCG & USCG Public Affairs Office. These authors utilized the article "Blacks and Cutters" researched, written and published by former USCG Chief Historian Truman Strobridge.
