1961 CGC Eastwind Deep Freeze Press Release

A USCG press release describing the CGC Eastwind's 1961 Operation Deep Freeze voyage where the crew supported a scientific expedition in addition to their regular duties. This included working with a 19th and early 20th century archeological site on Cape Adare, Antarctica.
